Schiermonnikoog has the widest beach in Europe. At the eastern tip of the island, the beach fans out into an enormous sand flat. Utter silence surrounds you.

Because of its importance as a nature sanctuary, the entire island is a national park. If you love bird life, Schiermonnikoog is a must.
