Kollum
Kollum is a village located in the northern part of the Netherlands. Kollum is a typical Frisian village in the province of Friesland. The village has many different sights and activities for tourists. During the summer, Kollum can be a very active town. It has a wide range of water activities for the sports lovers such as canoeing, water biking or the possibility of renting a boat. Furthermore, you can walk around the village and visit some cultural sights such as the town hall, several churches and the mill of Kuitert.
For the shopping lovers, there is a great shopping street in the centre of Kollum, which is called the Voorstraat and offers some small boutiques.
For the nature lovers, Kollum has beautiful surroundings with a lot of walking trails through the nature and city and the possibility of visiting the garden of Lutz. The village also has a small museum called ‘Oudheidskamer’ which explains the history of the beautiful region and is located in the old post office of Kollum.
Kollum is a great town to stay for more than one day. You can stay on a mini camping, chalets or even in a hotel. Due to the central location, is it easy to take daytrips to the sea to see the UNESCO world heritage site The Wadden sea area or the capital of Friesland, the city of Leeuwarden.
