Als je vanuit het westen Workum binnenrijdt via de Lange Leane en de Hylperdyk kom je bij de sluis deze historische scheepswerf tegen.
In de havenkom liggen vaak historische schepen te wachten op reparatie of schoonmaakbeurt. In dit geval ligt er o.a. de Staverse Jol HL90.
