The fountain of Fortuna in Sneek is close to the world-famous watergate. The place that no visitor to Sneek will ignore.
The fountain was designed by Stephan Balkenhol and consists of a golden ball with a man’s figure on it that carries a horn on the right shoulder. The horn symbolizes the Horn of Plenty. This horn overflows with water.
The figure rotates on its axis and therefore he randomly pours the water in all directions. He seems to indicate that the abundance sometimes ends up here and sometimes there.
