Vlieland
Vlieland is an oasis of tranquillity. The smallest of the four Frisian Islands, it is the farthest from the mainland. To preserve this quietness and the island’s natural flora and fauna, no cars are allowed on Vlieland.
The only village, Oost-Vlieland, offers friendly cafés and hospitable restaurants. A former village, West-Vlieland, disappeared long ago into the waves.
