Cities
Fryslân has a total of eleven cities as shown below. You might heard of the '11-cities' because of the world famous ice skating contest which had its first edition in 1909. Since then a total of 15 'Elfstedentochten' were organised. The final one in 1997. Ever since Fryslân is anxious when the next one will happen!
Nevertheless, all of the eleven cities in Fryslân have a rich past and cultural heritage. One by one worth a visit.
